This policy covers all websites operated by Grants Online Ltd.

We will only ever collect the information we need – including data that will be useful to help improve our services. We collect two kinds of information:

This helps us to determine how many people use our sites, how many people visit on a regular basis, and how popular our pages are. This information doesn't tell us anything about who you are or where you live. It simply allows us to monitor and improve our service.
  •          personal information such as name, postal address, phone number, email address, information about your interests etc.

We collect this information in connection with specific activities, such as newsletter requests, membership requests, product sales, free trials etc. The information is either needed to fulfil your request or to enable us to provide you with a more personalised service. You don't have to disclose any of this information to browse the sites. However, if you do choose to withhold requested information, we may not be able to provide you with certain services.

What do We do with the information?

We will use the information you provide to:

  •          fulfil your requests – such as applications for membership, applications for free trials and provision of information
  •          process sales transactions, or other payments and verify financial transactions

Grants Online may on occasion contact you with information which we may feel is relevant to you.  We will only contact you if you have requested a full or trial subscription. 

By requesting a full or trial subscription you have indicated to us your interest in grant funding and we have a legitimate interest in keeping you informed of grant funding opportunities as and when they arise.  The information we provide to you may include marketing information relating to our products and services.

Sharing your information

While we cannot ensure or guarantee that loss, misuse or alteration of data will not occur while it is under our control, we use our best efforts to try to prevent this.

Where you or we have provided a password enabling you to access parts of our websites or use our services, it is your responsibility to keep this password confidential. Please don't share your password with anyone.

  •          Ask us to amend the data we hold on you.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics. Google Analytics uses cookies to assist us in analysing how users use Grants Online. It counts the number of visitors and informs us about their behaviour overall - such as the typical length of stay on the site or the average number of pages a user views.

The information generated by Google Analytics (including IP addresses) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of our website, compiling reports on website activity and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage.

Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf. Google undertakes not to associate your IP address with any other data held by Google.

Cookies that we Use

Cookies are small files which are stored on a user's computer. They are designed to hold a modest amount of data specific to a particular client and / or website

The cookies that we use are:

Cookie Name: PHPSESSID Cookie generated by applications based on the PHP language. This is a general purpose identifier used to maintain user session variables.  We use this cookie to enable you to stay logged in to our websites

Cookie Name: _gid This cookie name is asssociated with Google Universal Analytics. This appears to be a new cookie and as of Spring 2017 no information is available from Google. It appears to store and update a unique value for each page visited.

Cookie Name: _ga This cookie name is asssociated with Google Universal Analytics - which is a significant update to Google's more commonly used analytics service. This cookie is used to distinguish unique users by assigning a randomly generated number as a client identifier. It is included in each page request in a site and used to calculate visitor, session and campaign data for the sites analytics reports. By default it is set to expire after 2 years, although this is customisable by website owners.

We never sell or share your information to other organisations to use for their own purposes.

How we use cookies

A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer's hard drive. Partnership working with PTA UK

Grants Online is working in partnership with PTA UK.  As part of this relationship Grants Online will offer a discounted subscription rate to members of PTA UK to the Grants 4 Schools website. To evaluate the effectiveness of this partnership Grants Online will, on a quarterly basis, provide PTA UK with information on the take-up of the discounted subscription rate.  This will include details of the PTA member organisations that have subscribed to Grants 4 Schools.
